The 34th edition of the India
International Trade Fair to be held on New Delhi is likely to attract over
6,500 companies from India and abroad.
President Pranab Mukherjee will
inaugurate the IITF at Pragati Maidan and the theme of the fair this year is
'Women Entrepreneurs', to help organisations integrate women welfare programmes
in different parts of the country.
Twenty five foreign countries are taking
part in the IITF this year. South Africa is the Partner Country of the IITF
2014, while Thailand is the Focus Country.
The Deputy Trade & Industry Minister
of South Africa Elizabeth Thabethe will grace the occasion, along with Commerce
& Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Lt Governor of Delhi Najeeb
Jung.
Apart from showcasing a wide range of
merchandise and services, the fair will be committed to 'Make in India' for
further extending India's global appeal for investment in diverse sectors.
The fair will have focus on social
issues, including the cleanliness drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
under Swachh Bharat Mission.The first five days of the fair from
November 14-18 are restricted to business visitors. It will be open for general
public during November 19-27.
